How does it work?

Mobirise

A pet funeral or memorial can help a family process the grief that follows the loss of a beloved pet and give everyone the chance to say goodbye.

Mobirise

This is how it (usually) works:

You get in touch - by email or phone - either is fine.
We meet up (it might be just you, but anyone else you'd like to be there is, of course, welcome). And you tell us about your pet: what they were like, the part they played in your family; any quirks, funny stories, memories; ideas you have for the ceremony to help you celebrate and remember the life of your animal friend.

After our meeting, we'll go away and write the service and send it to you so you can get back to us with any suggestions or changes - until you're completely happy with it. Then, on the day, one of us will deliver the ceremony and give you a presentation copy of the service as a keepsake

The Ceremony

The ceremony will usually last about 30 minutes and can take place wherever you like: at home, in the garden, or an outdoor spot that holds a special significance; or at a local pet cemetery or natural burial ground. It could include a burial or scattering of ashes as well as:
• Music
• Sharing memories and stories
• Reading poems
• Placing flowers
• Lighting candles
• Planting bulbs, a plant or tree
• Visiting a favourite spot or retracing a favourite walk
• Making pet memorial buttons
• Placing an ornament , special toy, collar, blanket or photograph
• Anything else you can think of!
Family, friends and animal friends are all welcome, of course - and everyone is encouraged to contribute!
